Triangle block in square hole

Andrea has a bucket with blocks that are either circles, squares, or triangles. The lid has three openings, one for each shape. We were playing with the blocks, and I was showing her how each kind goes through a certain opening. This was a lot of fun.

While she was dropping blocks into the bucket, she had difficulties with a triangle–it just wouldn’t go through the square hole. Instead of getting frustrated, she simply took the lid off the bucket, dropped in the triangle, then replaced the lid and moved on to another block.

That’s the kind of problem solving I like to see.
