Bambi trauma

We were a bit hesitant to let Andrea watch Bambi despite it being an excellent children’s movie. Our hesitation of course stemming from the scene where Bambi’s mother is shot by the hunter.

Nevertheless, last night we all watched it together, and her reaction was much, much more intense then we could imagine. Once she understood that Bambi’s mother was gone and would not come back, she bawled her eyes out, completely inconsolable.

It was heartbreaking.

UPDATE: After her initial scare, she surprised us greatly by asking to see the movie again the next day, and the day after that, and, well, you get the point. She loves this movie, even though she strategically walks out of the room during the scary bit.

Smart girl.
